Beerakai/ridgegourd senagapappu curry

1.Ridgegourd - 2 (peeled,chopped into pieces)
2.Onion - 1 large
3.Chana dal - 1/4 cup
4.Red chilli pwd - 1/tsp
5.Turmeric pwd - 1/2tsp
6.Salt - to taste

For seasoning
1,oil - 3tbsp
2.Mustard seeds - 1/2tsp
3.Jeera - 1/2tsp

1.Soak chana dal in water for 15 mts.
2.Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds when it starts spluttering add jeera.Add Chopped onions and fry for 4mts.
3.Add chopped ridgegourd pieces to the onions, add redchilli pwd,turmeric pwd and salt.Mix well and cook on high flame for 5mts.
4.Add soaked chana dal to ridgegourd pieces and cook in medium flame until ridge gourd cooks well.
5.Serve with rice or chappathis.
