Chettinad style chicken curry(Spicy)

1.Chicken - 2pounds (approx. 1kg)
2.Red chilli powder - 2tsp
3.Salt - to taste
4.Curd - 1/2 cup
5.Ginger garlic paste - 2tsp
6.Whole pepper - 2tsp
7.Curry leaves - 15
8.Onions - 2 large(chopped)
9. Tomatoes - 2 large(chopped)
10.Cashewnuts - 10
11.Oil - 4tbsp + 2tbsp

1.Marinate the chicken with curd,chilli powder,salt,turmeric powder,ginger garlic paste and curd for 20 mts.
2.Heat oil in a pan.Add chopped onions and fry for few mts till it changes its color.Add cashew nuts and fry for a minute.Add Chopped tomatoes and cook till tomatoes becomes mushy.
3.Finally add pepper and curry leaves and cook for a mt.Turn off the flame and cool it.
4.Blend all the ingredients into a smooth paste.
5.In the same vessel heat 4tbsp oil. Add marinated chicken pieces and cook till the water oozes out for 5mts.Add the blended mixture,half cup water to the chicken and cook in medium flame for 35 mts till chicken is well done.
6.Serve with rice or chapathis.
