Tomato Rasam

1.Tomatoes - 3(ripened and chopped)
2.Rasam Powder - 11/2 tsp
3.Salt - to taste
4.Pepper - 1/2tsp
5.Jaggery - 1tsp grated
6.Coriander leaves - few
7.Garlic(crushed coarsely) - 4
8.Turmeric pwd - 1/2 tsp
9.Water - 3cups
10.Tamarind paste - 1tsp

For seasoning
1.Oil /ghee - 2tsp
2.Mustard seeds- 1/2tsp
3.Jeera - 1/2tsp
4.Asafoetida - a pinch
5.Curry leaves - few
6.Red chilli - 1

1.In a vessel add finely chopped tomatoes,coriander leaves ,tamarind paste,coarsely crushed garlic,turmeric pwd,water and salt.Bring to boil for 2-3mts.
2.Add pepper pwd,Rasam pwd and grated jaggery and again boil for 15 in medium flame.
3.Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds,once it starts spluttering add jeera,curryleaves and asafoetida and fry for few seconds.Turn of the flame. Add seasoning to the rasam and mix well.
4.Serve with rice and papad.
