Sorakaya pesarapappu koora /Bottle gourd moong dhal curry

1.Bottle gourd - 1 small(Wash,peel and cut into medium pieces)
2.Red chilli - 1tsp
3.Moong dhal - 1/2 cup
4.Salt -  to taste
5.Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
6.Tamarind paste - 2tbsp
7.Jaggery - 3tbsp(grated)
8.Onions - 2 cups (chopped)
9.Tomatoes - 2
10.Coriander powder - 1tsp
11.Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
For seasoning
1.Oil - 3tbsp
2.Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
3.Jeera- 1/2 tsp
4.Red chilli - 1
5.Curry leaves - 6
6.Hing -  pinch

1.Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds,after a while add jeera,red chilli,hing and curry leaves.Add chopped onions, and fry  for 5mts.Add ginger garlic paste and fry for 1mt.
2.Add chopped bottle gourd.To this add turmeric powder,red chilli powder,salt and cook  in high flame for 5mts.
3.Add chopped tomatoes,1/2 cup moong dhal and cook in medium flame for 10-15 minutes.Add 1cup water if necessary.
4.Add Coriander powder,tamarind paste  and cook in low flame till the bottle gourd cooks well and gravy thickens.
5.Finally add jaggery and cook for 5 minutes.
Turn off the flame.
6.Serve hot with rice or roti.
