Ingredients
1.Gongura/Red sorrel leaves - 1bunch
2.Toor dhal - 1cup
3.Red chilli powder - 1/2tsp
4.Green chillies - 3-4
5.salt - to taste
6.Turmeric powder - 1/4tsp
7.Onion - 1/2cup(roughly chopped)
8.Tomato - 1(optional)
For seasoning
1.Oil - 2tsp
2.Mustard seeds- 1/4tsp
3.Jeera - 1/4tsp
4.Red chilli -1
5.Hing - 1/8tsp
Method
1.Wash toor dhal with water.To this add Gongura leaves,red chilli powder,green chilies,salt,tomato and turmeric powder and onion.Add 31/2 cups water and pressure cook till the dhal gets cooked well.
2.Remove the lid and mix well.Adjust salt if necessary.
3.In a small pan heat oil for seasoning.Once the is ready,add mustard seeds,jeera,red chilli and hing.Fry till the dhal changes nice color.Mix this seasoning to the dhal and serve with rice.
