Madatha Kaja

Sugar syrup


1.Sugar - 3 cups
2.Elaichi - 1 TSP
3.Water - 1 cup

1.In a bowl add sugar,water and bring to boil.
2.Once it starts boiling rduce the flame to medium heat and stir occasionally until one thread consistency.Turn off the flame .Add elachi pwd and keep a side.

Madatha kaja


  1. All Purpose flour - 3 cups
  2. Rice flour - 3 TBSP
  3. Ghee - 1/2 cup
  4. Oil - For deep frying

1.In a bowl mix flour,ghee and make like a chapati dough with water.
2.Divide into lemon size balls.
3. Roll each ball into chapati and keep aside.
4.In a small bowl mix rice flour , 3-4 TBSP melted ghee and mix like a paste.
5.Roll each chapati like a mat and cut into pieces with knife..Press each piece slightly and keep a side.
6.Heat the oil in a kadai.once it is hot add Kaja and fry it in medium heat until it turns the golden color.
7.Add the fried Kaja to the sugar syrup for 20- 30 mts.
