Crispy onion oats Pakodi



Ingredients

1.Oats - 3/4 cup
2.Besan flour - 1/2 cup+2tbsp
3.Rice flour - 2tbsp
4.Onions - 4 medium size(slice into finely)
5.Ginger (finely chopped) - 2tbsp
6.Curry leaves - 15
7.Green chillies - 5(chopped)
8.salt - to taste
9.Oil - for deep frying


Method
1.In a bowl add oats and sprinkle 3tbsp water and mix well.Let it sit for 5mts.

2. In a bowl add onions,ginger,salt,green chillies,oats,besan flour,rice flour and mix very well. Do not add any water.The moisture in the onions and the water from the oats is enough to make pakodi batter.The batter should be hard enough to make pakodis.

3.Heat oil in a pan.When the oil is enough heat drop the pakodis in oil using your fingers and fry them till it turns nice brown color.Turn in between to cook on both sides.

4.Serve as a snack or as a side dish with sambar or some dhal.

Dondakai pakodi

Ingredients
1.Tindora/Dondakai - 1/2 pound
2.All purpose flour - 3tbsp
3.Maida - 1 tbsp
4.Corn flour /rice flour - 2tbsp
5.Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
6.Salt - to taste
7.Ginger garlic paste - 1tsp
8.Oil - for deep frying

For seasoning
1.Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
2.Jeers - 1/2 tsp
3.Curry leaves - few
4.Oil - 2tsp

Method :
1.Wash and cut the dondakai into thin slices.
2.In a bowl mix APF,corn fliour,chilli pwd,salt and ginger garlic paste,Mix well.Sprinkle little water if needed while mixing.The mixture should be hard.
3.Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
4.Fry the tindora slices in oil and fry it in oil til it cooked well.Turn in between .
5.Remove from it oil once it turns the color.
6.In a pan heat oil add mustard seeds,once it starts spluttering add jeer, curry leaves .Turn off the flame.Add fried tindora into seasoning and mix well.
7.Serve as a side dish.
